Social Activities and Competition
Why put social activities and competition on the same page? Don’t think that SNM swimmers aren’t serious about competition. We have quite a few national champions and many of our swimmers frequently place in the top 10 in their age groups. BUT when we go to a meet, mainly short course nationals, we have fun going out to dinner, sitting in the bleachers and cheering our teammates. Remember, masters swimming is for everyone, you don’t have to be a star or more that a passable swimmer to participate in a USMS national competition.
Competition
2023 Short Course Nationals were held at the Wollett Aquatics Center. In the local clubs category, Sierra Nevada Masters finished 16th, women 8th and men 25th. High point scorers were Julie Hardt, 38 points and Joe Walker, 45 points. You can see all the results at USMS 2023 Spring Nationals. 23 SNM swimmers attended the event.
2021 October Pacific Masters Short Course Meters Championship Results Sierra Nevada Masters placed FIRST in the small team division! Congratulations to our 6 participating swimmers.
Periodic Social Events
We held the Sierra Nevada Masters annual Christmas Party and Gift Auction in 2022. We’ve selected a location for the 2023 Christmas Party. Stay tuned for an update.

Post workout coffee
Every Monday (at My Favorite Muffin on California Ave., Wednesday and Friday (at the Coffeebar on McCarran near Fourth Street).
Saturday Morning Breakfast
We gather immediately after workout at Peg’s Glorified Ham n’Eggs on S. Sierra St (next to Bibo’s Coffee). Those swimming at the Rec. Center in Incline gather at the Sunshine Deli. Great company, great food!
Thursday Afternoon Beer at the Tap Room
Located on Arlington Blvd at the corner of Arlingtion and California St. Join us at 4:00 pm for beer and or your favorite appetizer. Great company, great conversation!
